from the field to the community
The Happ Foundation, founded by Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ and his wife, Julie, is dedicated to empowering children to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
We provide vital support that helps kids build confidence, access opportunity, and create a path toward a brighter, more secure future. Ian and Julie believe every child deserves the chance to succeed, and they are deeply committed to ensuring young people have the resources, guidance, and encouragement they need to thrive.
We are sincerely grateful to everyone who takes the time to learn about our mission and stand behind our work. Your generosity and belief in what we do make it possible to create meaningful change in the lives of children and families who need it most. Because of supporters like you, we are not just meeting immediate needs—we are helping shape stronger, healthier futures for the next generation.
our impact
HOSPITAL VISITS
Hospital Visits bring joy and comfort to children through special experiences that create moments of happiness during challenging times. These visits include a custom bear-making machine that allows kids to design and create their own stuffed animals, along with meaningful bedside interactions that allow for one-on-one connection with patients and families. By meeting children where they are, the Foundation helps brighten hospital stays and reminds kids and families they are not alone.
Baseball clinics
Ian Happ hosts baseball clinics that expand access to the game he loves for underserved youth, including children overcoming adversity. These clinics provide a safe, welcoming environment where kids can learn new skills, build confidence, and find a sense of belonging through baseball. By sharing his time and passion, Ian uses the game as a powerful source of healing, hope, and opportunity.
Baseball games
The Happ Foundation hosts unforgettable days at Wrigley Field, inviting kids to experience the magic of a Major League ballpark firsthand. From meeting Ian Happ and asking questions to watching batting practice up close and exploring behind the scenes, each moment is designed to make kids feel special. The day concluded with staying for the game and a food voucher, creating memories that last long after the final out.
